Goya Awards 2014

The Spanish Cinema Academy has announced the films shortlisted to compete in the 28th edition of the Goya Awards.

The animation short film Beerbug by Ander Mendia [Kimuak 2012] and the documentary Minerita by Raúl de la Fuente [Kimuak 2013] are among the 35 shorts that have passed the first round.

Beerbug has already completed a prolific festival career with 173 selections and 22 awards. On the other hand, Minerita was premiered last September in the Festival of Invisible Cinema "Filme Sozialak" of Bilbao and has been selected in important events like DocsDF of Mexico City or IDFA of Amsterdam.

Only four of the ten works shortlisted in each category will be present at the February 9 gala. The finalists will be announced on January 7.
