Eusko Jaurlaritzaren Kultura Sailak bultzatutako Kimuak egitasmoak Euskadin ekoiztutako film laburrak bertan nahiz munduan zehar hedatu nahi ditu. Film laburrak, ikus-entzunezko eta beraz komunikazio zein artearen espresiobide berezitua izateaz gain, zinema eta oro har ikus-entzunezkoen benetako kimuak dira. Hori kontuan izanda, gure xedea, Euskadin ekoiztutako film laburrentzat gure herrian zabalpenerako bideak eskaintzea eta horrekin batera munduan zehar bideak zabaltzea da. Esku artean duzun sorta hau, aurtengo uztaren emaitza aukeratua duzu. Landareetan gertatzen den legez, kimu berri hauek etorkizuna, berrikuntza eta freskotasuna adierazten digute. Kimuak le ofrece las nuevas pujas del cortometraje producidas en Euskadi. Año a año se presenta con estas semillas selectas que constituyen los mejor de la labor que desarrollan los nuevos creadores en el campo del corto en nuestro país, un medio de expresión vivo y pujante.
El Departamento de Cultura del Gobierno Vasco, a través de Kimuak, quiere fomentar, en casa y en todo el mundo, la difusión de los cortometrajes producidos en Euskadi. Desde nuestro punto de vista, el cortometraje además de ser un lenguaje propio en el campo audiovisual y artístico, viene a representar autenticas pujas, brotes jóvenes ("kimuak" en euskera) del mundo de la cinematografía y el audiovisual. Por eso, a través de Kimuak queremos apoyar a los realizadores que trabajan en el mundo del cortometraje en Euskadi, tanto a través de vías para su exhibición dentro de nuestro país, como -sobre todo- por medio del fomento de nuevos cauces de difusión exterior e internacional. La selección de cortometrajes que tiene entre manos representa lo mejor de la cosecha del presente año. Del mismo modo que en el mundo vegetal, también aquí estos nuevos brotes representan futuro e innovación y son sinónimo de frescura. Kimuak showcases the new short films made in Euskadi. Year after year these select new seedlings feature the best of the work created by our country’s up-and-coming creators of short films, an exciting and flourishing means of expression.
Through Kimuak, the Basque Department of Culture wants to foment the distribution of short films produced in Euskadi both here and in the rest of the world. As we see it, short films are an audiovisual and artistic language in their own right, but they also represent genuine creations, young shoots ("kimuak" in the Basque language) in the world of cinematography and audiovisual media. This is why we feel it is important to support the efforts of filmmakers in the Basque Country in the area of short films. Kimuak promotes the screening of shorts in our country and, perhaps more importantly, seeks new channels for distribution in Spain and around the world. We are proud to present the best fruit from this year’s harvest of short films. And just like the plant world, these new shoots represent the freshness innovation and the future.
